Michael Floyd is an environmental technologist accelerating solutions to improve environmental & social performance in the AEC sector—towards a sustainable hardscape.
His work at Autodesk encompasses strategy, research, and technology proofs of concept for high performance buildings and infrastructure, sustainable construction, and resilient cities.
He recently led integration of EC3 (Embodied Carbon in Construction Calculator) with BIM 360 for climate-smart material choices. His life prior to Autodesk included consulting and design direction addressing toxicity, design for environment, climate, and supply chain adaptation in B2B and B2C contexts.
He has a special interest in building energy performance, leading to related work at scales ranging from whole cities to commercial kitchens. He holds an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London, and a BA from Princeton University.
