The Construction Industry Council (CIC) and Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) have jointly signed a Platinum Sponsorship agreement with the next WSBE 2020 conference, BEYOND 2020.
After having successfully hosted the last edition of the WSBE conference in Hong Kong in 2017, Hong Kong has decided to continue the momentum and be a prominent contributor to the success of BEYOND 2020.
“We are very much honored to benefit from the support of CIC and HKGBC” says Holger Wallbaum, Professor in Sustainable building at Chalmers University of Technology and Chair of BEYOND 2020. “The Asian perspective on the built environment is crucial for our global conference to be able to take into consideration feasible solutions and approaches to the increasing challenges of the built environment”.
Being a concrete link between the local industry and the local government, CIC key commitment is to forge consensus on long-term strategic issues and to solicit advice on all construction-related matters. The HKGBC strives to promote the standards and developments of sustainable buildings in Hong Kong and aims to raise green building awareness by engaging the government, the industry and the general public in order to develop practical solutions for Hong Kong’s unique, subtropical built environment of high-rise, high density urban area, leading Hong Kong to become a world’s exemplar of green building development.
The CIC and HKGBC will bring a Hong Kong Delegation to BEYOND 2020 and the Delegation is expected to comprise senior Hong Kong Government Officials, industry and business professionals as well as academia. The participation will cover speaking at Plenary Session and Gala Dinner; Parallel Session, Hong Kong Exhibition Booth and publishing of a Hong Kong Report, featuring Hong Kong’s high-dense urban context.
We look forward to welcoming CIC, HKGBC and the Hong Kong Delegation here in Gothenburg next June 2020.
